George Woodford
I began working in community services over a decade ago and the most recent years have been as a NDIS Support Coordinator. I am grateful for having some great mentors teach me some quality practices along the way, which I have now expanded upon and taken to the next level to make Geelong Support Coordination. I really enjoying getting to know each person I work with and helping them work through their personal goals and I learn from each one of them too. My interests are in mental health, including ABI, Schizophrenia, Autism and social anxieties / psychosocial disabilities (disabilities that can make socialising difficult).
I have completed a degree in Psychological Science and have worked with all kinds of people of all ages in a number of different settings including: overseas humanitarian aid in the Philippines, local governments jobs in the Department of Human Services, disability in prisons and even had a hand in travelling sales for a little while. I have found that a big part of each role has been to get to know each person individually and listen to their story and interests to provide the best support that I can.
Navigating the NDIS and engaging with providers can be an overwhelming and confusing thing and I am here to help you with a wealth of NDIS knowledge to get you started and supported.
I have settled in Geelong with my family and love it. In my free time I enjoy being creative and tinker with things, mostly cars, in the shed.
